George E. Mattson's Shubukan
The George E. Mattson Shubukan literally means "House of Warrior Training". The "warrior" referred to is not the common usage, but a more traditional concept that encompasses the idea of developing the individual to the best of his or her potential. Many of the movements in Uechi-ryu are deceptively simple, but the pursuit of their mastery goes hand in hand with the development of the body, mind and spirit.
